PARISH PRIEST & DEACON

Fr Wilson Donizetti Martins

Fr Wilson Donizetti Martins has been serving as the parish priest of St Kieran Parish since 2015. Ordained in St Mary’s Cathedral on 18 November 2011 at the age of 27, he initially served the parish of Star of the Sea in Cottesloe and Corpus Christi in Mosman Park. Born in Brazil into a family of 3 boys and one girl, he entered the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Morley in 2003. As part of his formation, he spent time in various locations, beginning with a posting in Darwin from 2007-2008, where he served the catholic parishioners of Humpty Doo, a suburb located near Daily River. In 2009, he was posted to Adelaide and the following year he continued his formation journey in Broome where he spent the next two years. After his ordination as a transitional deacon, he was sent to serve the parish of Rockingham.

Today St Kieran is a vibrant and thriving parish. He led the building of the lovely Shrine and the St Joseph Chapel and is currently overseeing the renovation of the parish hall kitchen. Under his guidance, St Kieran has continued to flourish and is much loved by the parishioners.


Deacon Gionata Pagani

Deacon Gionata Pagani, or fondly referred to as Deacon Jonathan, joined the St Kieran Parish family as a transitional deacon in August 2024. Originally from Piacenza, Italy, he first came to Perth with his parents Gian-Pietro and Caterina in 2001 as a missionary family for the Neocatechumenal Way. He was the second child of 14 siblings.

He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney, finishing in 2013 before entering Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Morley in 2015. He was ordained to the Order of the Diaconate on Thursday 23 May 2024 at St Mary’s Cathedral. Under the guidance of Parish Priest, Fr Wilson Donizetti Martins, he has been assisting in the pastoral care of the parish community and actively lending a hand in the building of the St Joseph Chapel and the renovation of the Parish Hall kitchen.

He will be ordained into the priesthood on 23 May 2025 at the St Mary’s Cathedral.
